🍕 Sometimes, the simplest trail meals are the best ones. When I’m out hiking, I love a lunch that’s quick to put together, satisfying to eat, and easy to carry — and these Trail Wrap Pizzas tick all the boxes.
They’re lightweight, pack down small, and come together in a minute — no cooking, no fuss, just classic pizza flavours in a wrap. Whether you’re sitting beside a river, perched on a ridge, or tucked into a hut on a windy day, this is one of those lunches that always feels like a treat.
🥙 What You’ll Need
All you need are a few simple ingredients that travel well in your pack:
1 large wrap (or 2 small ones)
A squeeze of tomato pizza base sauce
A few slices of salami
A couple of cheese slices
🍕 How to Make It on the Trail
Spread your wrap with a generous layer of pizza sauce.
Lay out slices of salami across the top.
Place a couple of cheese slices on top.
Roll it up or fold it over, and enjoy!
That’s it — no stove, no waiting, and it’s surprisingly satisfying after a few hours on the trail.
💡 Trail Tip
If it’s a colder day and you’re craving something warm, you can heat your wrap in a pan on your stove for a few seconds on each side — just enough to melt the cheese. It’s the ultimate comfort lunch.
You can also mix things up with other toppings like pepperoni, olives, capsicum, or a sprinkle of herbs if you want to get fancy.
🥾 Why I Love It
Trail Wrap Pizzas are my go-to on longer hikes when I want something that still feels fresh. They’re simple, tasty, and bring a little slice of “home comfort” to the backcountry — no dehydrator required.
It’s proof that trail lunches don’t have to be boring — sometimes, all you need is a wrap, some cheese, and a bit of imagination.
